en.Wedoany.com Reported - Meta has launched a series of new features for its video editing app Edits, including an AI assistant, experimental feature testing tags, and more in-depth audience analysis tools.

Edits was first launched last year as a direct competitor to ByteDance's video editing app CapCut. Meta hopes that the new and upcoming tools will help retain existing users while attracting new ones.

The newly introduced AI assistant will help creators analyze their audience data and brainstorm content ideas. The assistant leverages creators' Instagram data, such as video views and retention rates, to help them understand what content works and why. Based on content performance, the AI assistant suggests video ideas and recommends using trending audio to create content.

By integrating the AI assistant directly into Edits, Meta aims to keep creators active on Instagram, competing for their attention against TikTok and YouTube. Additionally, by offering content ideas, Meta encourages users to post more frequently, which is expected to boost user engagement. Using the AI assistant directly also eliminates the need for creators to rely on external tools like ChatGPT when brainstorming content and analyzing performance.

Last week, Meta launched a similar AI assistant tool for creators on Facebook. Likewise, YouTube and TikTok provide creators with tools for brainstorming ideas. For example, YouTube Studio has an "Inspiration" tab that uses AI to generate video ideas, while TikTok offers creators an AI assistant for idea generation and trend discovery. The desktop version of Edits will allow creators to have more precise control over the editing process and work on a larger screen, which will be more helpful in advanced editing workflows. Meta stated that creators will be able to seamlessly sync their workflows between mobile and desktop devices. The upcoming desktop version will also enable Edits to better compete with CapCut, which already offers a desktop version.

Among the new features launched today is a "Beta" tag, which provides creators with early access to experimental features still in development and allows them to provide feedback to Meta. The introduction of this tag indicates that Meta aims to better compete with CapCut and accelerate feature development based on creators' actual needs and usage requirements.

Creators can now also see more detailed metrics, such as demographic breakdowns of their audience and the times when their audience is most active. These new metrics join the app's existing analytics features, which include data on how long viewers watch a video, how many followers are gained from a specific video, and where users stop watching a video. Additionally, creators can search for specific topics in the app's "Inspiration" feed to discover Reels and templates created by other creators around a trend or idea. They can also create multiple versions of a single piece of content to test which version performs best before publishing. Although Instagram has not shared specific user numbers for Edits, the company stated that content created with the app has a 10% higher save rate, a 2% higher share rate compared to content not made with Edits, and that more than half of users who watch Reels on Instagram daily see content created with Edits. Meta said that the AI assistant announced today is currently being tested with participants of Thursday's creator event, while the desktop version of Edits is "coming soon." The remaining features are now available to all users.
