en.Wedoany.com Reported - Nokia is partnering with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison to modernize the latter's mobile network through 5G RAN technology, supporting an AI-driven service strategy.

Nokia stated it will deploy low-band and mid-band 5G networks in Indonesia to help build an "AI-ready" network serving Indosat customers nationwide. Nokia positions this collaboration as "more than a network upgrade," promising to enhance digital experiences such as immersive entertainment, gaming, and daily digital activities, while leveraging improved network quality to foster advanced consumer and enterprise applications across multiple key sectors.

To achieve this, Nokia will deploy AI-RAN and collaborate with Nvidia to conduct field trials in Indonesia by the end of 2026. Nokia will also support Indosat in developing new AI algorithms aimed at improving spectrum efficiency on Nvidia's AI-RAN platform. Indosat added that combining centralized AI factories with distributed AI-RAN infrastructure will advance its AI mesh, creating a unified intelligence layer while distributing AI and connectivity capabilities to millions of users.

Nokia CEO Justin Hotard stated that the partnership with Indosat and Nvidia aims to build a network that can both scale 5G and support new AI-driven services, creating long-term value. He noted that this collaboration reflects a broader industry shift, as operators invest in networks capable of delivering high performance at scale while supporting greater efficiency, new business models, and digital growth.
