en.Wedoany.com Reported - Coim USA has selected the TexAmericas Center in Texarkana, Texas, as the site for a major manufacturing expansion. The company, the North American subsidiary of Italian specialty chemicals manufacturer Coim Group, will establish new specialty chemicals production capacity and support its long-term growth strategy in North America.
The project is expected to involve an investment of approximately $50 million, building on Coim USA's initial investment at the TexAmericas Center in 2024. At that time, the company acquired a 20-acre site with a 25,000-square-foot rail-served facility and existing logistics and transloading infrastructure.
The expanded site will serve as Coim USA's Mid-South manufacturing and distribution hub and support the production of a new line of renewable polyols. This product line primarily uses cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) as a plant-based raw material. The new products will complement the company's existing Isoexter polyester polyol portfolio, expanding the range of sustainable materials available to customers in North America.
The company stated that the facility is expected to become its first and largest CNSL-based renewable polyol production site in the United States.
Michelangelo Cavallo, President of Coim USA, said in a statement that this expansion is a significant milestone in the company's long-term growth strategy. The selection of the TexAmericas Center expands the company's geographic footprint, extends its sustainable product portfolio, and enhances its ability to serve customers with greater speed, efficiency, and resilience.
Planned operations at the existing facility are set to begin in the first quarter of 2027. Coim also plans a larger expansion at the site, adding approximately 100 million pounds of annual capacity for other specialty chemicals product lines. These facilities are expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2028.
Coim is currently hiring for manufacturing, operations, maintenance, and quality positions related to the project, including production operators, quality control personnel, and plant leadership roles. Additional hiring is expected as construction and commissioning progress.
This expansion further solidifies the Texarkana region's position in the U.S. chemical manufacturing industry. According to data from the TexAmericas Center, within a 75-mile radius of the site, the chemical manufacturing and petroleum-related industries employ nearly 33,000 workers, while the regional labor pipeline produces over 3,000 graduates annually in manufacturing and industrial-related disciplines.
The company stated that the site's rail access, logistics infrastructure, and geographic location will help improve supply chain reliability and customer service levels, while supporting future growth in specialty chemicals production.
