en.Wedoany.com Reported - SW North America will highlight three live machining automation demonstrations at IMTS 2026 and introduce digital twin technology to underscore the potential of smart manufacturing in enhancing output and process reliability.

SW North America, a supplier of horizontal multi-spindle and single-spindle CNC machining centers, automation, and complete system solutions, announced on June 18, 2026, that it will offer visitors an interactive experience of machining technology and automation systems working in synergy at IMTS 2026, held from September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Its booth is located at #338250.

"IMTS provides manufacturers with the opportunity to experience technology firsthand," said Andrew Rowley, General Manager of SW North America. "This year, we are focused on demonstrating how CNC machining and manufacturing automation work together to create smarter, more flexible production environments across industries."

One key demonstration will center on the integration of the SW BA 322 dual-table, dual-spindle CNC machining center with a collaborative robot. This demo will involve machining custom commemorative challenge coins using the BA 322, with the collaborative robot handling raw material loading and finished part unloading directly at the booth. The demonstration will showcase capabilities including dual-table and dual-spindle machining, independent Z-axes, ball screw-driven platforms, collaborative robot automation, and intelligent vision technology. Unlike traditional industrial robots, this collaborative robot is designed with integrated sensing and intelligent motion technology to operate safely near personnel. Visitors can also select industry-themed commemorative challenge coins through an interactive game-like experience.

The same booth will also feature Digital Twin technology, which will create a virtual model of the BA 322 machining process. Visitors can learn how manufacturers simulate production scenarios, validate process changes, and optimize performance in a digital environment before making actual adjustments, thereby reducing risk, improving efficiency, and supporting smarter manufacturing decisions.

Another live demonstration will showcase the machining of aerospace blisk components using the BA W06-22 machining center, covering aerospace CNC machining applications, precision machining of complex geometries, process reliability for critical components, high-performance material removal, and advanced balancing and pre-setting techniques. The on-site pre-setting and balancing station will also demonstrate how manufacturers can improve tool accuracy and machining consistency.

The third live demonstration will feature zero-point clamping technology for fixture changes using a collaborative robot and an automatic fixture exchange platform. Designed for low-volume, high-mix production environments, this system reduces fixture changeover time, minimizes downtime between batches, and enhances positioning accuracy and manufacturing flexibility.
