en.Wedoany.com Reported - The China Machine Tool Industry Association (CMTBA) held the "2026 Machine Tool Industry Information and Statistics Work Conference" in Jinan, Shandong on June 16. Secretary-General Mao Yufeng and Vice Chairman Guo Changcheng attended and delivered speeches, while Vice Chairman Wang Xu presided over the meeting. The conference invited Professor Qin Lei from the School of Statistics at the University of International Business and Economics to give a special lecture. A total of over 120 participants attended, including information and statistics staff from more than 100 key enterprises nationwide, as well as secretaries-general, deputy secretaries-general, and representatives from 23 branches.

Over the past year, the association's industry information and statistics work has been solidly advanced and achieved progress. The network of key enterprises was further expanded, with the number of enterprises reaching 323. The regularly published statistical products were enhanced to include monthly import and export overviews and industry information reference materials. The association also conducted a special survey on the operation of the cutting tool industry and a second special survey on the distribution of industry enterprises, significantly strengthening its comprehensive service capabilities. Based on an assessment of task completion and work quality, a total of 237 statisticians were commended for achieving excellent standards.

In his address, Vice Chairman Guo Changcheng introduced the achievements of the association's information and statistics work and emphasized the importance of conducting industry information and statistics work under the new circumstances. Guo stated that with the long-term support of key enterprises, branches, and member companies, CMTBA's industry statistics and operational analysis work has been carried out for many years, forming a statistical and analytical system with international influence and distinct industry characteristics. In 2025, the association made significant efforts and achieved results in four areas: expanding the key enterprise network, broadening the supply of statistical materials, focusing on statistical research on industry hotspots, and conducting statistical surveys closely aligned with industry realities. As the country places high importance on the industrial machine tool sector, the social attention on machine tool industry statistical data has rapidly increased, placing higher demands on the association's statistical work. Guo pointed out the direction for the association's future industry information and statistics work from three aspects: further expanding the key enterprise network, improving the quality of statistical data in sub-sectors, and enhancing the depth and professionalism of industry operational analysis.

Gu Jinhua, Deputy Director of the Association's Information and Statistics Department, presented the "2025 Machine Tool Industry Information and Statistics Work Report." She introduced an overview of the machine tool industry and its economic operation, reported on the achievements of the industry's statistical work in 2025, including routine regular statistical reports, estimated data, published materials, certification documents, and exchange materials; innovative research on the distribution of metalworking machine tool imports and exports and the proportion of foreign-invested enterprises in machine tool exports; and special surveys on the operation of the cutting tool industry and the second special survey on enterprise distribution. She also outlined the association's work plan for 2026, focusing on building industry statistical capabilities, exploring a two-tier statistical mechanism, enriching statistical analysis products, and conducting special surveys on operational differences. Mi Yanhua and Duan Jieyan from the Information and Statistics Department provided specialized business training on "Release of 2025 Key Enterprise Network Assessment Results and Download of Statistical System Materials" and "Practical Operation of the Machine Tool Industry Statistical Information System."

Professor Qin Lei from the School of Statistics at the University of International Business and Economics delivered special lectures on "Methods for Analyzing Machine Tool Industry Statistical Data and Standardized Report Presentation" and "AI Empowering Industry Statistics." Professor Qin introduced the significance of industry statistical data analysis and reporting, as well as common issues in report writing. He provided a detailed interpretation of core statistical data and indicators for the machine tool industry and shared practical methods for commonly used statistical data analysis. He also focused on topics such as the integration of industry statistics with AI, commonly used AI tools, and practical cases of using AI methods to process data.

In his concluding remarks, Secretary-General Mao Yufeng stated that statistical work serves as the barometer and navigator for the industry. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the industry's demand for data will continue to grow, and the association's statistical work must be continuously upgraded and expanded in coverage. Statistical work cannot merely satisfy the need for reporting numbers; it must transition to utilizing data, seeking efficiency from AI plus statistics, and deriving value from data analysis. He put forward three requirements for upgrading statistical work: First, uphold the bottom line of data quality. Data from key enterprises are the "basic particles" of industry statistics, with accuracy and timeliness being the lifeline; enterprise representatives must ensure the quality of data at the source. Second, branches must assume the primary responsibility for expansion. Currently, the coverage of key enterprises across the entire industry is insufficient; branch secretariats should actively develop new key enterprises while conducting statistics in their respective sub-sectors to make industry data more representative. Third, the association must continuously enhance its service capabilities, strengthen professional standards, deepen statistical analysis, optimize reporting tools, and persist in organizing annual statistical work conferences to help everyone gain value and improve efficiency from statistical work.

The statistical work symposium held in the afternoon was chaired by Vice Chairman Guo Changcheng and Deputy Director Gu Jinhua. Participating representatives exchanged views and discussed topics such as improving the quality of statistical work and strengthening the application of statistical data, reaching a consensus. After the meeting, representatives visited the History Museum and the D6 Lighthouse Factory of Jinan No. 2 Machine Tool Group Co., Ltd.
