Ji-Paraná Airport will receive R$35 million investment to enhance operational capacity

These funds will be used to enhance the airport's operational capacity, strengthen safety, and modernize facilities. According to the minister, the project will expand the passenger terminal area from the current 800 square meters to 2,255 square meters, nearly doubling its size. During the ceremony, Franca stated that the Brazilian government is heavily investing in infrastructure across all regions of the country, and Rondônia is no exception; this investment will double the terminal area. Governor of Rondônia, Marcos Rocha, noted that the expansion will help increase flight availability and strengthen strategic sectors such as agribusiness.

Upon completion of the renovation, the new terminal will be able to accommodate 240 passengers during peak hours. The project will install new baggage handling equipment, including three feed conveyors, two collection conveyors, one connecting conveyor, an electric vertical guidance device, and a baggage claim carousel. The works will also improve accessibility, including renovating restrooms, establishing accessible routes, and adjusting pathways for people with disabilities. The external parking lot will be expanded to 7,800 square meters, providing 247 car parking spaces, 28 motorcycle parking spaces, as well as dedicated spaces for the elderly and people with disabilities.

In addition to Ji-Paraná, the federal government has allocated over R$346 million for airport infrastructure in Rondônia, benefiting airports in the cities of Ariquemes, Vilhena, Cacoal, Guajará-Mirim, and Costa Marques.
