Acciona has registered 231MW of capacity for the Antunes Mountains I to V wind farms in the municipality of Piratini, Rio Grande do Sul. According to the local city hall, the complex is expected to install approximately 40 wind turbines, with an investment of around 1 billion Brazilian reais. This is the second Acciona authorization request accepted by Aneel within a week, following the company's submission of wind projects totaling 336MW in the state of Bahia.

Brenergy Solar has registered 550MW of photovoltaic capacity in the state of Minas Gerais, distributed across the Jaíba I to XI solar power plants in the municipality of Jaíba.

The authorization request is a preliminary step before the issuance of a formal authorization, allowing entities responsible for solar, thermal, and wind power projects to request an access opinion from the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and proceed with the licensing process required for project implementation.

As of 2026, Aneel has registered 53 authorization requests, totaling 2,950MW of installed capacity. Solar power leads in the number of applications, with 36 requests (1,799MW). Wind projects account for 14 requests, totaling 1,047MW, while thermal projects have 3 requests, totaling 105MW. All applications have been submitted outside the Regulated Contracting Environment (ACR).
