en.Wedoany.com Reported - European renewable energy company Econergy will acquire French onshore wind developer Escofi for €134.3 million. Through this transaction, Econergy adds 740 MW of wind projects and enters the French market for the first time.

Escofi's history dates back to 1988, and its business covers the development, financing, construction and operation of onshore wind farms, with projects at various stages of development. Its assets include 128 MW of operational capacity, 34 MW under construction, as well as 147 MW of late-stage development projects and 432 MW of earlier-stage development projects.

The project sites are concentrated in the Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions of France. Econergy noted that the operational and under-construction assets, together with the late-stage development project pipeline, provide the company with both existing generation capacity and projects that have already obtained key development approvals.

In terms of revenue structure, more than 90% of Escofi's operational and under-construction capacity receives 20-year contract revenue under France's Contract for Difference (CfD) mechanism. In July 2026, three additional projects with a total capacity of 46 MW obtained CfDs with a 20-year contract term and a price above €80/MWh.

According to Econergy's estimates, the operational, under-construction and late-stage development projects totaling 309 MW are expected to generate annual revenue of €59 million to €65 million and EBITDA of €47 million to €53 million in a representative year.

Once the under-construction projects and the 147 MW late-stage development pipeline are completed and operational, the company's operational capacity is expected to reach approximately 300 MW by 2030. Econergy expects project-level EBITDA of approximately €42 million to €44 million at that time.

There is also a 432 MW project pipeline representing longer-term development potential. Opportunities cited by Econergy include repowering of existing wind farms, adding battery storage at certain sites, and continuing acquisitions in the French onshore wind market.

Following the completion of the transaction, Econergy's European market coverage will increase to eight countries, including France, Romania, the UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain and Greece. Its overall development pipeline exceeds 13 GW, of which approximately 6 GW is energy storage.

This acquisition also continues Econergy's cooperation with investment firm RGREEN INVEST, which supported the transaction. Econergy stated that the French asset portfolio will complement its existing European solar, wind and energy storage businesses and increase the proportion of contracted renewable energy generation business.
