en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swiss online distributor QoQa has inaugurated a new distribution center in Eclépens, developed by KNAPP, aimed at driving its business growth in Switzerland and German-speaking countries. The project, launched in 2024, targets the creation of a flexible, efficient, and fully integrated warehousing solution to strengthen internal processes and serve over one million members.

As a leading online distributor in Switzerland, QoQa offers its members a wide range of products daily, including beverages, sports equipment, furniture, and home decor. The new facility is designed to handle fluctuating demands: simultaneously managing long-term storage products and direct-shipment goods, requiring high flexibility and precision from the system. As different products are consolidated into single order units to expedite shipping, parcel mix management becomes increasingly important, necessitating meticulous order planning, diverse picking logic, and dynamic inventory management.

The overall system integrates high-bay rack warehouses, stacker cranes, box and pallet conveyor systems, Pick-to-light workstations, and gravity racks for fast-moving items, enabling seamless operations from receiving to shipping. Operational data shows that the center operates 250 days per year, with double shifts five days a week, totaling 12 hours daily, handling 130 pallets of incoming goods, approximately 21,700 individual items shipped, and around 7,500 shipping units dispatched each day.

The center's design includes approximately 30% additional growth capacity, achieved through fully automated pallet storage, automated shipping box transport, and automated picking and packaging processes. Its layout supports expanded storage capacity, with a total capacity of 371,901 individual items. QoQa Logistics Project Manager Baptiste López Mosimann stated that in this project, KNAPP acted not only as a technology partner but as a true friend, understanding its business model and needs from the outset, with the final solution perfectly aligning with its business model and enhancing operations where speed, efficiency, and Qommunity satisfaction matter most.

The warehouse management system KiSoft WMS plays a critical role throughout the system, managing all inventory, storage locations, and orders, while coordinating with the Warehouse Control System (WCS) to ensure precise organization of goods flow. This scalable solution provides transparency and reliability for the company in its daily operations. KNAPP Sales Manager Michael Grüneis noted that QoQa remarkably demonstrates how dynamic and innovative e-commerce can be, with the entire project's key being understanding QoQa's operations and developing an end-to-end interconnected solution where machinery, software, and operational processes work in perfect harmony.
