en.Wedoany.com Reported - Stadler Rail delivered 35 Flirt electric multiple units (EMUs) to Polish regional operator Koleje Mazowieckie within 24 months of signing the contract. These trains are part of the company's large-scale rolling stock modernization program, which involves the procurement of 75 EMUs in total. By the end of this year, Stadler Rail is expected to have delivered 53 of these units.

According to the contract, all trains will be manufactured by Stadler Polska at its plant in Siedlce, with an 18-year maintenance service, repair packages, and training for operator staff. This new train procurement project is partially funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO). The investment mainly includes two contract packages: one for 11 EZT Type I units, valued at PLN 323.4 million (EUR 74 million); and another for 10 EZT units, worth PLN 294 million (EUR 67 million).

The Flirt EMUs are being gradually deployed on major regional lines in the Masovian Voivodeship, including routes between Warsaw and Łowicz, Sochaczew, Malkinia, and Mińsk Mazowiecki. The introduction of the new trains has directly enhanced transport capacity, reduced travel times, and improved service reliability.

The new trains are over 98 meters long, can accommodate up to 582 passengers, including 261 seats, and have a maximum operating speed of 160 km/h. Manufactured from lightweight aluminum, they offer high energy efficiency and low operating costs. The trains are equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, modern passenger information systems, power sockets, and USB ports. They are also fully accessible for people with reduced mobility, featuring ramps, dedicated spaces, and an audio assistance system for hearing-impaired passengers.
