en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kakao Group announced on the 26th that it will collaborate with four major domestic science and technology institutes through its regional AI talent and business incubation organization, "Kakao AI Sail," to focus on discovering teenage unicorn entrepreneurs in their teens.

This collaboration is being promoted as part of Kakao AI Sail's startup support program. On the 25th, Kakao signed a "Business Agreement (MOU) on Fostering Future AI Talent" with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST), and Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Young-duk, head of the Kakao AI Sail Center; Lee Sung-hye, head of the KAIST Gifted Education Center; Kim Jong-won, head of the GIST Dream Youth AX Education and Training Center; Seok Chang-won, dean of the DGIST Convergence Talent Education Institute; and Baek Chung-ki, head of the UNIST Supercomputing Center.
Appointed as head of the Kakao AI Sail Center in May this year, Kim Young-duk is an expert in venture investment and support. He founded Gmarket and previously served as CEO of D.CAMP, a youth startup foundation under the banking sector, and at Lotte Ventures (formerly Lotte Accelerator).
Earlier, in March this year, Kakao had already signed an MOU with the four major science and technology institutes on fostering regional talent. This agreement marks the first substantive project under that framework, focusing on the early discovery and support of science-dreaming youth in elementary, middle, and high schools. The plan is to combine the specialized educational capabilities of each science and technology institute with Kakao's infrastructure and field experience programs to continue providing effective support. Kim Young-duk stated that collaborating with the four major science and technology institutes that nurture talent for the Republic of Korea's science and technology sector to provide an AI education environment for regional gifted students is highly meaningful, and he will strive to discover and nurture teenage AI entrepreneurs at an early stage.
