Ink Innovation deploys CUPPS platform at Suriname airport

As the sole operator of JAPIA, Airport Management Ltd. is committed to elevating the airport to international standards and preparing for long-term passenger growth. The introduction of Ink CUPPS is a key step in this digital roadmap, streamlining check-in and boarding operations while laying a scalable foundation for future passenger touchpoints.

Ink CUPPS is delivered on a subscription model, reducing upfront capital and ongoing operational costs for the airport and its airline partners. By integrating check-in and boarding functions into a shared platform, JAPIA can manage resources more efficiently and provide airlines with a simplified certification path. The platform is compatible with both modern and legacy systems, ensuring interoperability across various airline departure control system (DCS) environments in airport operations.

Mobile passenger processing capabilities are available via the Ink Touch app on Apple iPhones, enabling airlines to extend check-in and boarding services beyond fixed counters, handle demand surges, and maintain operations during system failures or disruptions.

Vijay Chotkan, CEO of Airport Management Ltd., stated that by deploying Ink CUPPS at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport, they are building a core foundation for passenger touchpoints from curb to aircraft door. The partnership with Wintel N.V. has introduced Ink's "Fit for Purpose" technology, significantly improving the current operational environment and ensuring a more efficient and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers.

The current deployment is progressing. Sky High Dominicana has completed migration and is using CUPPS, while FlyAllWays has completed certification and is operational. GOL, Panama (Copa Airlines), Caribbean Airlines, KLM, and Surinam Airways are in the certification process. Once certified, these airlines will gain full interoperability with all JAPIA CUPPS software and access to additional services such as Ancillary Payments.

Natasha Abdulhak, Chief Commercial Officer of FlyAllWays, noted that integration with the Ink CUPPS platform was very simple and well-supported, with agents quickly becoming proficient. The flexibility of shared counters has significantly improved their daily operations at Suriname airport, and she recommends this system to any airline looking to streamline their ground handling setup.

This deployment is the first major outcome of the strategic partnership announced between Ink Innovation and Wintel N.V. in October 2025. Wintel N.V., an established ICT company with over 25 years of experience serving the hotel, banking, and retail sectors in Suriname, serves as Ink's exclusive local partner for implementation, on-site support, and ongoing operations.
