en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) has announced that the preliminary approval for Phase I of the urbanization project of the Majarabique Logistics Area, located between Seville (Sevilla) and La Rinconada, has been completed and is now open for tender. The project has a budget of €40 million.

Phase I of the urbanization project covers approximately 58 hectares and primarily involves road and infrastructure construction within the logistics area. Upon completion, it will provide over 30 hectares of built-up area for various logistics activities, nearly 9 hectares of land for services to businesses, personnel, and vehicles within the logistics area, as well as other specialized services for transport and logistics companies, carriers, and their vehicles.

The project also includes 6 hectares of open space and plans to build a substation to power the logistics hub. Additionally, the A-8003 road will be expanded to meet future transport demands, and the connection between the SE-20 and A-8009 roads will be modified.

The approval of Phase I of the urbanization project is progressing in parallel with the master plan for the logistics area. This master plan covers 151.97 hectares in La Rinconada and 41.23 hectares in Seville, defining the urban planning scheme for the entire developable area and dividing development into three zones or execution units.

The Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Coordination and Housing (Consejería de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda), through the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia (APPA), is driving the construction of this facility. All phases combined cover a total area of 193 hectares, strategically located adjacent to a railway corridor and at a potential road transport hub north of the capital, between the future northern section of the SE-35 road and the SE-40 highway.

This project is part of the current logistics strategy of the Andalusian region, aimed at building an efficient multimodal freight transport system, with the development of the Andalusian Logistics Network (Red Logística de Andalucía) at its core.
