en.Wedoany.com Reported - The German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs (BMDS) has commissioned Deutsche Telekom and SAP to develop a prototype application for citizens nationwide, named the "Germany App" (Deutschland-App), with the project launching this April. In an exclusive interview, State Secretary Markus Richter outlined the app's design concept and functionalities, emphasizing that its core goal is to simplify citizens' access to administrative services through artificial intelligence, web crawling technology, and assistance systems.

In the interview, Richter stated that the Germany App will serve as a unified gateway to access existing government online services. Users will only need to interact with this app to be guided through various administrative applications, without having to directly navigate multiple different government department websites. This interaction process will incorporate generative artificial intelligence technology to help users understand application requirements, fill out forms, and track progress. Currently, the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs, together with Deutsche Telekom and SAP, is collaborating to build the app's prototype system to verify the feasibility of the aforementioned technical solutions.

Looking ahead to subsequent development stages, Richter also mentioned two next steps for Germany's digital public administration. The first is the digital wallet EUDI-Wallet, an infrastructure that will allow citizens to securely store and present electronic documents such as identification cards and driver's licenses; the second is the "Germany Stack" (Deutschland-Stack), a unified IT architecture designed to support the future operation of public administration. According to previous statements by Federal Minister for Digital Affairs Karsten Wildberger, the app is planned to be put into practical use starting in 2027, aiming to achieve the goal of making the state leaner and closer to its citizens.
