en.Wedoany.com Reported - ECKART has launched Versalan, a new generation of aluminum pigment preparation based on high-purity platelet pigments with an inorganic SiO₂ coating.

Developed on the basis of Hydrolan technology, this product meets the higher performance, regulatory, and sustainability requirements of modern coating systems.
Versalan is supplied as a free-flowing, dust-free powder, enabling clean handling, precise dosing, and reliable processing, supporting efficient production across industries. Solvent-free transportation reduces logistics complexity and costs, while improved wettability and high aluminum content enhance pigment utilization efficiency.
The product can be dispersed directly in water without pre-wetting or solvent pre-mixing, and can be added at any stage of production. Optimized flow characteristics and a tailored additive package ensure superior wettability and flowability compared to conventional aluminum pastes.
With a VOC content of less than 5%, Versalan is not classified as hazardous, supporting safer handling, simplified transportation, and regulatory compliance. Low flammability further enhances safety, eliminating the need for hazardous goods logistics.
The product is available in a range of particle sizes, enabling metallic effects from intense sparkle to structure-free finishes. It is suitable for automotive OEM and refinish coatings, industrial coatings, plastics, UV-curable systems, as well as processes such as RIM, FIM, and overmolding.
As the successor to the Hydrolan BG and PG grades, Versalan is suitable for waterborne or solvent-based, UV-curable, and 100% coating systems, integrating performance, safety, and sustainability.
