en.Wedoany.com Reported - The "Integrated Renovation Operators" (Opérateurs ensembles de la rénovation, ORENO) project tender launched by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) has recently been implemented in the Grand Est region of France under the name "Energy Transition Innovative Renovation Model" (Merite), primarily targeting the energy renovation of private condominiums (copropriété). The project is coordinated by Demathieu Bard Energie, the energy subsidiary of the French construction group Demathieu Bard.
In accordance with the specifications of the national consultation, Demathieu Bard Energie has established a partnership with Crédit Agricole Lorraine, insurance company Roederer, and the University of Strasbourg (Université de Strasbourg), which is responsible for social follow-up studies. The project team stated that this partnership brings together all necessary expertise, aiming to provide property management companies with a clear, consistent, and tailored holistic solution.
The Merite project plans to develop, within four years, a comprehensive renovation solution covering design, construction, financing, and energy performance guarantees at selected pilot sites. This solution controls costs through a delegated management approach and improves thermal efficiency through contractually guaranteed energy performance. Quentin Barbe, Project Manager at Demathieu Bard Energie, explained that the trial targets three condominiums built between the 1960s and 1970s, each with approximately 50 housing units, with the goal of upgrading the energy rating of these buildings by three levels.
The French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) is a French public institution under the Ministry of Ecological Transition, responsible for promoting energy transition and environmental protection. The ORENO project tender it launched is part of the "France 2030" investment plan, aimed at supporting innovative solutions in the energy renovation of residential buildings. The purpose of the tender is to validate and promote an integrated operator model capable of providing individuals with efficient and affordable comprehensive energy renovation services. Selected projects must offer a full range of services from design to construction, financing, energy performance guarantees, and resident support, and set ambitious targets of achieving at least Energy Performance Diagnosis (DPE) class A or B.
The Demathieu Bard Group is an independent French construction company with over 160 years of history, founded in the Lorraine region, and now operates in 48 locations across 6 countries. The group has extensive experience in urban development, civil engineering, and energy infrastructure, and actively participates in ecological transition challenges. The implementation of the Merite project represents an important practice in France's push for large-scale energy renovation of existing buildings to achieve energy-saving and emission-reduction goals, helping to provide replicable business models and technical pathways for the energy upgrade of private condominiums.
