en.Wedoany.com Reported - Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has urged telecom companies to expand mobile network coverage by adding towers and improving infrastructure, with a focus on remote areas. The state currently has 30,694 mobile towers, and an additional 2,310 towers are needed to achieve full coverage.

During a review meeting with representatives of major telecom service providers, Naidu stated that the top priority is achieving last-mile connectivity to extend communication services to the most remote villages. He emphasized that the government is committed to making Andhra Pradesh a model state for communication infrastructure and asked operators to study the feasibility of completing the proposed tower installations within 100 days.
Naidu assured operators of government support in tower installation and instructed officials to identify all geographically uncovered areas, sharing detailed information with service providers. He also noted that the greenfield capital city, Amaravati, currently under development, will feature an advanced fiber optic communication network, ensuring every household receives fiber connectivity without repeated road excavation.
Officials reported that the state currently has nearly 170,000 kilometers of fiber optic network and over 2.8 million broadband connections. Naidu called on telecom service providers to collaborate with the government in promoting digital literacy among mobile users across the state to enable the delivery of more services.
