The factory is equipped with LS Electric's dedicated DC core equipment, including solid-state transformers (SSTs), solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs), and energy storage systems (ESS). DC power distribution improves energy efficiency by reducing power losses incurred during the conversion of alternating current (AC) to DC, and the factory's overall energy efficiency has increased by more than 10%.

The factory primarily produces the "G2," a next-generation battery-integrated ESS power conversion system (PCS). This product, jointly developed by LS Electric and LG Energy Solution, uses water-cooling technology to replace traditional air-cooling methods, enhancing the device's performance in heat control and durability.

Attendees at the ceremony included LS Electric CEO Chae Dae-seok, Second Vice Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment Lee Ho-hyun, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) President Kim Dong-cheol. On the same day, the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and KEPCO hosted the "K-DC Industry Expansion 2026" event at the Cheonan campus, with approximately 120 participants. During the event, LS Electric signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KEPCO, the Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH), LS Cable, Hyosung Heavy Industries, HD Hyundai Electric, and LG Electronics regarding the construction of a global DC technology specialized research complex and joint technology research cooperation.
