en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. expands its overcurrent protection product portfolio with the introduction of six new series of surface-mount polymer positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistors, designed to save board space and enhance efficiency in computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
The PPTC0603E3, PPTC0805E3, PPTC1206E3, PPTC1210E3, PPTC1812E3, and PPTC2920E3 series from Vishay BCcomponents provide resettable overcurrent protection for low-voltage circuits such as USB-C ports in computers, computer peripherals, Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications in telecom equipment, battery-powered industrial tools and consumer devices and appliances, industrial automation systems, and home automation heating controls.
For these applications, the new thermistors combine a hold current of up to 5.0 A with a fast trip time as low as 50 ms, while a low resistance as low as 5 mΩ reduces voltage drop and improves efficiency. To minimize board space requirements, the devices are offered in six compact case sizes from 0603 to 2920, with heights as low as 0.3 mm to 2 mm.
The RoHS-compliant and halogen-free PPTC0603E3, PPTC0805E3, PPTC1206E3, PPTC1210E3, PPTC1812E3, and PPTC2920E3 series are compatible with lead-free soldering processes up to 260°C. SPICE and 3D models of these thermistors are available for designers during development.
