en.Wedoany.com Reported - UQube is expanding quantum-safe technology to the public market integrated authentication system, launching a next-generation integrated authentication demonstration operation for 68 institutions under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (중소벤처기업부).

The UQube integrated authentication brand "Q-ONE" applied in this initiative integrates quantum-based integrated membership management (IM) and single sign-on (SSO) functions into one. This solution connects the authentication systems operated separately by each institution to a single platform, aiming to enhance user convenience and security in public services.
Q-ONE adopts a hybrid encryption method, combining quantum random number generation (QRNG)-based security elements and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology with existing encryption systems. This approach maintains compatibility with existing security infrastructure while establishing a foundation for authentication security against future quantum computer attack threats.
The solution is designed to meet mandatory public sector requirements including Cloud Security Assurance (CSAP), Information Security and Personal Information Protection Management System (ISMS-P), and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). It also includes AI-based real-time analysis of abnormal behavior patterns during authentication to detect security threats.
Last year, based on its 13 quantum encryption patents, UQube launched the quantum key distribution system (QKD) "Q-KDS" for drones and completed the National Intelligence Service's security suitability verification. Considering that the key to introducing the technology in the defense sector lies in securing empirical references, the project was pursued as a national initiative before defense demand institutions were formed, with the Agency for Defense Development (국방과학연구소) taking the lead.
National Intelligence Service security suitability verification is considered a prerequisite for introduction into the defense and public sectors. Obtaining NIS verification at the Q-KDS stage provides a technical basis for expanding into the public market with Q-ONE and entering the defense sector.
The Q-ONE demonstrated in this project is an application product that extends Q-KDS's quantum-safe technology to the general public market. It will be prioritized for application at 68 major public institutions, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (중소벤처기업부), the Korea Startup Promotion Agency (창업진흥원), and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (기술보증기금), with plans to verify the commercial viability of quantum-safe technology in an integrated account environment of 2 million users.
UQube CEO Kim Jeong-beom (김정범) emphasized that the core of this project lies in extending quantum security, previously confined to the communication network layer, to the account and authentication layer that citizens experience daily. With the drone-use Q-KDS already verified by the NIS, the quantum-safe commercialization roadmap linking to the public-use Q-ONE will simultaneously target the security and defense markets.
