This service provides end-to-end support from planning and prototyping to development and operations, with the AI agent assisting customers in automating and improving their IoT system construction and operational processes. Representative Director and President Ken Tamagawa highlighted two key features: "autonomy" and "long-term memory."

Autonomy refers to the AI agent's ability to combine multiple tools and autonomously complete tasks after the user communicates a goal. IoT systems span a wide range of technical fields, including devices, communications, cloud, AI, and security, requiring specialized knowledge in each area for construction and operations. SORACOM Agent delegates this task to an AI agent equipped with extensive IoT expertise.

According to Tamagawa, the AI agent can drive IoT devices. It can control devices by linking with SORACOM's API and MCP servers, or operate other SORACOM service groups to read acquired data. During the briefing, an example was introduced involving integration with SORACOM's cloud camera service, "SORACAME." When a camera is installed in an office, if a user instructs the AI bot to "find if there is XX in the office," the AI agent receives the command, moves the camera lens within the office to search for the target object, and sends the image.

Accumulating On-Site Tacit Knowledge as "Corporate Assets"

This service also aids in the development of more complex IoT systems. For instance, in scenarios requiring the development of new devices or applications, after the user communicates the goal and desired outcomes to the AI agent, the agent repeatedly asks the user questions while autonomously considering specifications for IoT devices or applications, data collection methods, AI analysis workflows, and more, driving the work forward. The second feature, "long-term memory," plays a crucial role here. The AI agent can remember conversation history and specifications with the user, thereby supporting long-term projects. Tamagawa noted that on-site tacit knowledge is accumulated as an asset. Since SORACOM Agent operates in a user-isolated environment, the input data and knowledge can be retained as the user's own intellectual property. SORACOM Agent will be available as a Technology Preview version starting July 7.
