en.Wedoany.com Reported - Equinor has exercised two options to extend its passenger transport and search and rescue service agreement with CHC Helikopter Service in central Norway until 2030. The renewal period runs from February 1, 2028, to January 31, 2030, with a contract value of NOK 1.7 billion (approximately USD 177 million).

CHC Helikopter Service operates Sikorsky S-92 helicopters for Equinor in central Norway. The service includes deploying two passenger helicopters and one standby search and rescue helicopter in Kristiansund, one passenger and medical evacuation helicopter in Brønnøysund, and one search and rescue helicopter at the Heidrun facility.
CHC will continue to provide helicopter services from its bases in Kristiansund and Brønnøysund, as well as search and rescue services at the Heidrun facility. The renewal contract provides predictability for maintaining helicopter readiness and capability during the option period.
This renewal ensures the continued provision of helicopter capabilities, which are critical for Equinor's safe passenger transport and emergency preparedness in the region.
Mette Ottøy, Equinor's Senior Vice President for Joint Operations Support, stated that safely transporting personnel to and from its facilities is a prerequisite for safe operations. With this renewal, Equinor secures robust and predictable helicopter services in central Norway until 2030. The region has a high level of activity for the company.
