en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Port of Concepción del Uruguay in Argentina has exported its first shipment of non-GMO soybean meal, totaling 12,000 tons, destined for Denmark. Transported by the cargo vessel "Eco Crossfire" (IMO 9597654), this shipment marks a new milestone in the logistics and agricultural value chain of Entre Ríos Province.

In this operation, the product was fully processed within the province, from cultivation and crushing to export. The port authority stated that the shipment has obtained RTRS and GMP+ international certifications, meeting quality, traceability, and sustainability standards, enabling access to demanding markets.
This initiative was driven by the Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas (ACA), Entre Ríos Crushing, and the Danish cooperative DLG Agro, integrating the entire production chain from seed to final shipment.
Guillermo Bernaudo, Minister of Economic Development of Entre Ríos Province, highlighted the significance of this operation for the provincial port system during loading. He noted that the growth in port activity, particularly in specialized and certified cargo, reflects improvements in the province's logistics infrastructure and export capacity. The official stated that this is Argentina's only fully locally developed non-GMO soybean production and export line, covering everything from seed production, crushing, and transportation to export from Entre Ríos.
Martín Erdozain, Commercial Manager of Entre Ríos Crushing, stated that this shipment marks the beginning of a new phase for the company, which, after years of effort and a restructuring process, has relaunched projects with ACA and international partners. Erdozain noted that completing this export from the Port of Concepción del Uruguay was a distant goal when negotiations began, and he expressed appreciation for the support provided by the provincial government and port authorities.
Gabriel Carpenco, head of ACA's Entre Ríos branch, recalled that the project began several years ago when the decision was made to bet on non-GMO soybean production. He emphasized that crushing took place in Gualeguaychú, and completing the export stage from a port in Entre Ríos Province represents progress for all parties involved.
Marcos Di Giuseppe, President of the Port Authority of Concepción del Uruguay, stated that this first operation is the starting point of a long-term project, which plans to invest over $400,000 in upgrading port infrastructure and supporting sustained export growth over the next decade. The plan also anticipates adding new cargo, including compound feed destined for the Caribbean region. Di Giuseppe stated that these works will consolidate the port as the only public port in Entre Ríos Province authorized to export such cargo to Europe under GMP+ international standards.
The port authority emphasized that each new shipment will strengthen production, employment, and competitiveness in Entre Ríos. Such operations create direct and indirect jobs for over 400 people per shipment and drive a network of services related to transportation, logistics, and port activities.
