en.Wedoany.com Reported - Samsung's "Infinity Screen" LED display system developed for SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, with a display area of over 6,500 square meters and a structural weight of approximately 1,000 tons, has become the largest LED panel in global sports and entertainment. The system will be used to display match data, live images, animations, and advertising content during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

SoFi Stadium

The stadium, which opened in 2020 with an estimated construction cost of approximately $5.5 billion and a capacity of 70,000, is the home venue for the National Football League (NFL)'s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

The "Infinity Screen" is a double-sided oval structure composed of over 2,600 LED panels. The largest panels are nearly 12 meters high, equivalent to a four-story building, while the smaller panels are approximately 6 meters high. The screen's length is 1.2 times that of the playing field, and its width is 1.5 times (the playing field is about 110 meters long). The screen is installed 37 meters above the turf and 21 meters below the roof, with the stadium's design already accounting for its load. The screen features an internal steel frame support structure and integrates hundreds of industrial-grade speakers and 56 5G internet antennas facing the audience. With nearly 80 million total pixels, the screen supports full 4K resolution image playback and employs HDR10+ technology to enhance picture quality. Its pixel pitch is 8 mm, differing from screens designed for close-up viewing.

The audio system for the Infinity Screen is provided by JBL by Harman. A total of approximately 4,500 speakers are installed throughout the stadium, with 260 directly integrated into the screen structure, capable of 360-degree directional sound transmission covering areas both inside and outside the screen, delivering an immersive audio experience on site.
