en.Wedoany.com Reported - The UK government's Water Delivery Taskforce has recently intervened to resolve a deadlock caused by Anglian Water's insufficient wastewater treatment capacity, enabling the restart of development projects for over 18,000 homes in eastern England.

The taskforce was established last year. Previously, Anglian Water had opposed multiple large-scale developments due to wastewater treatment capacity issues. Under the new agreement, for planning proposals involving more than 500 homes, developers, planning authorities, and water companies will collaborate earlier, allowing upgrades to wastewater treatment facilities to be designed and delivered within consecutive investment cycles without hindering planning decisions.

UK Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds stated that this is another success story for the government's Water Delivery Taskforce, which has unlocked over 55,000 homes through pragmatic thinking and long-term strategy-driven solutions.

Development projects now closer to construction include the 7,750 homes planned for the Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community and the 3,200 homes in Baldock, Hertfordshire.
