This agreement is an extension of the long-standing "Smart Technology Integration into Penal Institutions Project" (ACEP) between the two parties. The new phase will integrate AI-driven capabilities into the digital infrastructure of the project to enhance operational efficiency in correctional facilities. The protocol was signed between Türk Telekom and the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses under the Ministry of Justice, aiming to modernize public sector operations through advanced digital technologies.

The enhanced ACEP platform, developed by Innova, a subsidiary of Türk Telekom Group, utilizes local engineering expertise and domestic resources. This solution is designed to provide a more comprehensive digital transformation for penal institutions while supporting Turkey's "Digital Turkey" agenda and national technology strategy. Türk Telekom stated that this initiative reflects its ongoing role in supporting public sector digitalization through telecommunications infrastructure and technical expertise. By integrating AI and other emerging technologies into government systems, the company aims to improve efficiency, streamline operations, and accelerate the adoption of digital services by public institutions.
