en.Wedoany.com Reported - South Korean on-device AI semiconductor company DeepX announced on the 3rd that it signed a strategic partnership agreement with Koshida Tech, a local technology distribution and solutions specialist, at its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan on the 2nd, to jointly accelerate the capture of Japan's Physical AI and Edge AI markets.
Under the agreement, both parties will promote Edge AI and Physical AI across Japan's industrial sectors, driving the adoption of DeepX's Neural Processing Unit (NPU) product line in local manufacturing and infrastructure sites. Koshida Tech will leverage its long-established customer network and market experience to handle project discovery, product proposals, and client engagement; DeepX will provide its proprietary NPU product line, exclusive software development environment, reference platforms, and technical support to offer close assistance for Japanese customers' product development and mass production.

Japan is a key hub that DeepX is focusing on to expand its global market. The country holds strong global competitiveness in manufacturing and infrastructure sectors such as robotics, automotive, industrial automation, and security. However, due to severe aging and labor shortages, the demand for unmanned and intelligent operations at industrial sites is rapidly growing. In particular, scenarios such as factories, logistics centers, and construction sites involve safety and industrial fields where data does not need to be transmitted to external clouds but requires real-time on-site processing, making them critical frontiers for ultra-low-power Edge AI semiconductors.
The flagship product for this entry into the Japanese market is DeepX's DX-M1. This chip, built on a 5nm (nanometer, one-billionth of a meter) process, delivers 25 TOPS of AI computing performance with a power consumption of only 3 to 5W, making it an ultra-low-power AI semiconductor. It is optimized for security cameras, industrial computers, robots, drones, and smart factory equipment that require high energy efficiency.
This partnership further strengthens DeepX's global supply chain system. The company has previously established a dense customer network in North America, Greater China, and Southeast Asia through collaborations with over 20 major global distributors, including AVNET, WPG, Macnica, and DigiKey. With the addition of Koshida Tech's engineering network—founded in 1930 and deeply rooted in the automotive and IoT sectors—the commercialization process in Japan is expected to accelerate.
DeepX CEO Kim Nok-won stated, "Through collaboration with our Japanese partner, our primary goal is to gradually increase the number of successful cases where our NPUs are commercialized in actual industrial sites. We will effectively transfer the technological prowess of our ultra-low-power AI semiconductors, achieved domestically, to global manufacturing and infrastructure sites." Koshida Tech Director and Executive Officer Koshida Kei commented, "The demand for integrating AI into manufacturing sites and social infrastructure is rapidly growing in Japan. Leveraging Koshida Tech's network and market knowledge in Japan, we will vigorously promote project acquisition and business expansion with DeepX."
