en.Wedoany.com Reported - u-blox has launched the first GNSS chips and evaluation kits based on the F11 platform, including the UBX-F11270-KB and UBX-F11170-CC dual-band chips, as well as the EVK-F112 evaluation kit, featuring ultra-low power positioning solutions.

u-blox announced that its first product series based on the F11 platform has been officially launched. The platform's design philosophy aims to balance positioning accuracy and power efficiency, avoiding the common trade-offs found in traditional solutions. In a typical configuration, the new products adopt Low Energy Precision Positioning (LEAP) mode, consuming only 7 mW while delivering reliable meter-level GNSS performance. Its intelligent architecture dynamically adjusts dual-band performance and energy consumption to adapt to challenging real-world environments, helping developers create longer-lasting and more durable devices.
In addition to the dual-band products, the newly launched M11 sub-series provides an efficient solution for applications requiring only L1-band positioning. This series includes the MAX-M11N module and the UBX-M11070-KB chip, inheriting the ultra-low power characteristics of the F11 platform while expanding developers' product options.
The F11 product series is equipped with configurable SPG 7.00 firmware, integrating LEAP mode, selective L5 operation, polygon geofencing, advanced multipath mitigation, and indoor detection technology. These features are designed to ensure reliable positioning in complex signal environments while minimizing energy consumption. The series can be widely applied in aftermarket telematics, human/pet tracking, asset tracking, livestock tracking, wearable devices, drones/unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and micro-mobility.
Michael Ammann, Senior Director of Product Strategy and Support at u-blox, stated that battery life and positioning performance should no longer be a trade-off. He believes that the launch of the first F11 products marks a significant milestone in the company's strategy to redefine standard precision GNSS. With the new platform, developers have already begun evaluating how to accelerate innovation in tracking, wearables, telematics, and industrial applications while benefiting from ultra-low power capabilities.
Currently, engineering samples of the UBX-F11270-KB and UBX-F11170-CC GNSS chips, EVK-F112 evaluation kit, MAX-M11N module, and UBX-M11070-KB chip are available for application. As the foundation of this series, more modules and form factors, such as the MAX-F11N dual-band GNSS module planned for launch later this year, will continue to expand the product line.
