en.Wedoany.com Reported - German rental company Gerken has taken delivery of a 150-tonne Liebherr LTM 1150-5.4 all-terrain crane, filling the gap between its 100-tonne and 250-tonne equipment.

The five-axle LTM 1150-5.4 is equipped with a 66-metre seven-section main boom and a double-folding swing-away jib that can be offset by 40 degrees. With the addition of a seven-metre insert section, the maximum lifting height reaches nearly 95 metres, with a maximum working radius of 72 metres. The crane can travel with nine tonnes of counterweight under a 12-tonne axle load and a 60-tonne total weight limit. It is also equipped with the Liccon3 control system and BSIS (Blind Spot Information System). The company stated that the crane has already been booked for tasks such as precast concrete components, wind turbine maintenance, and overhead power line construction.

Gerken Managing Director Manfred Drößer said the company always focuses on creating maximum added value for customers when investing in its rental fleet. The new 150-tonne crane helps more easily meet the strong demand for integrated project solutions in overhead line construction and other areas, positioning the company more favorably as it enters the second half of the year, for which it has set ambitious goals.

Gerken's rental business was founded in 1989, but the company's history dates back to 1963, when Manfred Gerken opened a paint business in Düsseldorf. Due to extensive use of aerial work platforms in large painting contracts, he gradually shifted to the rental business and founded Gerken Arbeitsbühnenvermietung in 1989.

In 2014, telehandlers were added, and more recently, the company entered the crane sector in 2024 with the addition of a 70-tonne Tadano AC 4.070L-1 crane. Gerken's fleet now includes over 9,000 aerial work platforms, operating across 40 locations.
