en.Wedoany.com Reported - Komatsu (OTC: KMTUY) has reopened its branch in Redding, California, to expand its construction and forestry business coverage in Northern California. Customers can purchase and rent equipment, order parts, and receive product support from Komatsu personnel at this location.

Komatsu stated that the location is conveniently situated close to remote logging operations in Northern California, helping to reduce transportation distances and response times. Todd Gaspers, Vice President of Komatsu's Western Operations, noted that forestry operations rely on reliable equipment and rapid support, as every hour of downtime can impact production. The company re-established the branch in Redding to be closer to customers who depend on Komatsu equipment and services.

The branch was previously operated by Gee Heavy Machinery, Komatsu's construction distributor in Northern California. Gee abruptly closed in 2025, laying off 57 employees across its Sacramento headquarters and locations in Fremont, Fresno, and Redding. Komatsu subsequently took over ownership of these locations.

Komatsu will host an open house event at the facility on October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
