en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 27, Liebherr of Germany released an update on a heavy prefabricated component lifting project. German crane rental company Haslach used a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 all-terrain crane to install 3 concrete columns, each weighing 20 tonnes, for a potato storage building in Ehingen-Berg, Baden-Württemberg. The lifting was carried out using the five-axle crane with a maximum rated lifting capacity of 230 tonnes, without additional counterweight.

The lifting task was commissioned by German construction contractor Dobler. The 3 concrete columns were produced at Dobler's precast component plant in Kaufbeuren and then transported to the Ehingen-Berg construction site for use in the main load-bearing structure of the storage building. Based on the weight of the precast components and the site conditions, Haslach selected the LTM 1230-5.1 crane for the installation work.

The key feature of this operation was the lifting configuration without additional counterweight. According to Haslach's construction plan, smaller-tonnage cranes would require separate transport of counterweight plates, whereas the LTM 1230-5.1 completed the lifts relying on its telescopic boom structure and the equipment's own stability, thereby reducing the need for one counterweight transport vehicle and its corresponding driver on site.

This crane model is equipped with a 75-meter telescopic main boom and can reach a maximum hook height of 111 meters via a lattice extension system. The equipment operated near Liebherr's Ehingen mobile crane manufacturing plant and local service center. The operation used the equipment in a configuration without additional counterweight; the 75-meter main boom length and 111-meter hook height are equipment specifications.
