en.Wedoany.com Reported - Vietnam Food Bank Network, in collaboration with the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, and the Trade Union of the Sports Center under Ho Chi Minh City National University, has launched the "Community Green Garden" (Green Hero Garden) project in Dong Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This project integrates circular agriculture with education, research, social responsibility, and community development, aiming to build a multifunctional green community model.

Nguyen Tuan Khoi, Chairman of the Vietnam Food Bank Network, stated that the "Community Green Garden" originates from the vision of building a green community, aiming to connect the circular economy, food waste reduction, social relief, and community education. This model not only produces agricultural products but also helps disadvantaged groups by integrating social resources, spreading humanistic values.
The "Community Green Garden" adopts a closed-loop circular agriculture model, encompassing vegetable cultivation, fruit tree planting, recirculating aquaculture, earthworm farming, black soldier fly farming, organic fertilizer production, and recycling of agricultural by-products. The system design aims to optimize resource use, reduce waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance the value of the agricultural ecosystem.
In addition to its production functions, the "Community Green Garden" is positioned as an experiential education center, a scientific research platform, and a community connection space, providing conditions for schools, businesses, social organizations, and residents to participate in learning and practicing circular agriculture, environmental protection, and sustainable development measures.

Nguyen Tuan Khoi emphasized that the Vietnam Food Bank's philosophy is "No food wasted, no one left behind." The "Community Green Garden" is a concrete practice of this philosophy, transforming seemingly discarded resources into new value and continuously sharing the results with the community, especially children and vulnerable groups.
Ms. Sanne Høj Andrén, Agricultural and Food Counselor at the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, pointed out that the green transition process cannot rely solely on policies but must start from everyone's daily actions, including in kitchens, schools, restaurants, and communities. Models like the "Community Green Garden" help transform public awareness, inspire action, and promote collective community efforts to build a more sustainable food system.
