en.Wedoany.com Reported - Liebherr Austria has launched the LMC 80 mixed cutter, a low-noise, low-vibration ground improvement solution for soil mixing. This equipment uses the proven LRB 23 or LRB 355 piling and drilling rig as the carrier machine, with all components supplied by Liebherr as an integrated package to ensure coordinated operation.
The LMC 80 mixed cutter is suitable for all types of mixable soils and is used to install load-bearing or sealing elements for ground improvement. Its four cutting wheels are driven by a drive system with a maximum torque of 2×80 kNm, achieving a maximum rotational speed of 30 rpm depending on ground conditions.
Liebherr supplies the LMC 80 mixed cutter along with its carrier machine. With an extended connecting rod, the compact LRB 23 piling rig can construct ground mixing elements up to a depth of 36 meters, while the larger LRB 355 can reach 40 meters. Both models can produce wall panels with cross-sectional dimensions ranging from 2800×500 to 1000 mm, depending on site requirements and ground conditions. For flexible use, the LMC 80 can rotate 135 degrees around the mixing axis without moving the mast. The control system of the mixed cutter is integrated into the familiar operating concept of the carrier machine.
When the mixing element deviates from the vertical, the verticality measurement system displays real-time information on the operator's monitor, ensuring high precision during operation. With the LIPOS positioning system and advanced satellite technology, operators can precisely position the LMC 80. The digital solution MyJobsite for deep foundation applications records, displays, analyzes, manages, and evaluates relevant process, machine, site, and positioning data.
The LMC 80 is mounted on the carrier machine in a horizontal position, saving time and being particularly safe as it eliminates the need for work at height. The carrier machine's crowd winch lifts the mixing unit to the working position.
To convert the LRB 23 or LRB 355 for piling or drilling applications, simply replace the mixing tool with a rotary drive, hammer, or vibrator. Customers need only one carrier machine to handle common applications in deep foundation work and benefit from the comprehensive performance of the LRB series.
From an economic perspective, using the LMC 80 for milling soil mixing offers clear advantages compared to other ground improvement methods. Only a small amount of building materials needs to be transported, and there is no need to transport excavated material, as only the existing soil is mixed with the binder slurry. By launching the LMC 80 mixed cutter, Liebherr expands its product line, contributes to more environmentally friendly solutions, and offers a low-noise, low-vibration process that meets market demands. This model was exhibited in June 2026 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH and is now available on the market.
