en.Wedoany.com Reported - Japan's Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG), a long-time player in the cryogenic pump field, has officially launched the next-generation submerged motor pump SMP 34. This product is designed to deliver higher performance and reliability across multiple markets, including power generation, fueling and import/export terminals, truck loading/unloading, peak shaving, and fuel supply systems.

According to Nikkiso CE&IG, over 11,000 units of the SMP 34's predecessor are in operation worldwide. Building on this application experience, the new-generation submerged motor pump features enhanced reliability, with a mean time between overhauls of up to 20,000 hours. When maintenance is required, its quick-lock components can improve repair speed by up to 30%.

The SMP 34 adopts a flexible design with a wider operating range. In addition to being suitable for liquefied natural gas, ammonia, and nitrogen, it is now also compatible with liquid hydrogen. Meanwhile, the pump achieves a hydraulic efficiency of up to 80%, placing it at a high performance level. Emile Bado, President of Nikkiso CE&IG's Cryogenic Pumps and Expanders Business Unit, stated that the group pioneered the first commercial submerged liquid hydrogen pump, and the launch of the SMP 34 continues this tradition of innovation. The product has undergone rigorous design validation to deliver exceptional reliability, performance, and safety in demanding applications, setting a standard for the marine, industrial gas, energy, and transportation markets.
