en.Wedoany.com Reported - Ducati is moving forward with a pre-production version of the Desmo450 SM supermoto, which recently made its debut at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. Unveiled to celebrate Ducati's centennial, the model was presented to the public during the World Ducati Week event. Currently still in the display phase, full specifications are scheduled to be announced in September.
This competition-only motorcycle is derived from the Desmo450 MX motocross bike and is specifically developed for supermoto racing, featuring a dedicated braking system, suspension, engine components, and specific bodywork. The power unit originates from the 449.6 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine of the Desmo450 MX, delivering a maximum power of 62.6 hp and a peak torque of 53.5 Nm in this version.

The prototype adopts a minimalist styling typical of supermoto and has already been put into actual competition, piloted by five-time Supermoto World Champion Marc Reiner Schmidt. Ducati has confirmed that the 450 SM has already secured victories in its first competitive events.

The Desmo450 SM is equipped with top-tier components, including manually adjustable Showa suspension, specially developed braking hardware, and continues the iconic supermoto design language. As a track-only model, its market positioning is extremely niche and may not even be introduced to the Indian market.
