en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the world's first modular high-intensity magnetic separator with a coupled magnetic field, independently developed by Shenyang Longi, was officially rolled off the production line, marking the first industrial application of a multi-ring parallel separation architecture. This equipment breaks away from the traditional technical path of increasing capacity by enlarging the ring body of conventional high-intensity magnetic separators, providing a domestically developed original equipment solution for the efficient separation of weakly magnetic minerals.

At the launch ceremony, over 200 technical experts and research scholars attended, including leaders and experts from the Liaoning Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, and the China Metallurgical Mining Enterprise Association; representatives from domestic mining enterprises such as Ansteel Group, Jianlong Group, TISCO, Lingsteel Group, Taike Group, Huaxia Guoyuan, Sinohydro Bureau 6 Co., Ltd., Tangshan Haigang Kaihe Xin Logistics Co., Ltd., Sanying Mining Group, and Beipiao Dingxin; as well as delegates from MCC-series design institutes, universities of science and technology like Northeastern University, overseas mining institutions, and industry media.

The mining industry currently faces two core challenges: the continuous depletion of raw ore grades and increasingly stringent environmental protection and energy-saving regulations. Traditional single-ring high-intensity magnetic separation equipment has inherent shortcomings. Capacity increases are often accompanied by issues such as larger equipment footprints, uneven magnetic fields, material entrapment and blockage, and soaring unit energy consumption. This makes it difficult to effectively recover low-grade tailings and fails to meet the high-purity separation demands for new energy minerals like lithium and rare earths, hindering the industry's progress toward resource efficiency and low-carbon development.

After years of collaborative research involving industry, academia, and research institutions, Shenyang Longi has introduced two core innovations: coupled magnetic circuits and multi-ring parallel operation. The multi-coil coupled composite magnetic circuit increases the magnetic field strength at the coil center by 30% compared to traditional equipment, significantly improving the uniformity of the separation magnetic field. The multi-ring synchronous separation architecture, through the coordinated operation of multiple magnetic ring groups, enhances processing capacity without increasing the machine's footprint. The modular integrated design results in overall energy savings of 15%–20%, while significantly reducing plant construction and subsequent maintenance costs.

This equipment offers dual application value: on one hand, it can efficiently recover valuable metals from iron ore tailings and low-grade raw ore, improving comprehensive resource utilization and reducing solid waste emissions from mines. On the other hand, it is adaptable to the purification processes for strategic minerals such as lithium and rare earths, filling the gap in high-end separation equipment for the new energy industry and supporting the secure domestic supply of critical minerals.

As a standard-setting unit in the industry, Shenyang Longi has been deeply engaged in the magnetic separation equipment field for 33 years, holding over 700 related patents, and continues to collaborate with universities on mineral separation technology research. The launch of this new equipment completes the full-cycle validation of coupled magnetic field technology, from laboratory theory to industrial application, providing a Chinese technological solution for the global low-carbon transformation of the mining industry.
