en.Wedoany.com Reported - Italy's Tykun is planning to further expand its business in the larger, high-performance chase boat sector, as its parent company Med Group announced that the new production facility is now fully operational.

This investment aims to support the construction of larger, more technically complex vessels while internalizing more manufacturing processes. Marco Galimberti, CEO of Med Group, stated that the company has been confident in Tykun since its acquisition four years ago, initially focusing on the rigid inflatable boat (RIB) segment under 12 meters. However, as the market evolved and new technological demands emerged, the company recognized the need to broaden its vision and production capabilities.

Located in Italy's Upper Adriatic region, the shipyard is part of Med Group's long-term manufacturing strategy, providing the space and infrastructure needed to build larger vessels more efficiently. This helps improve production control and reduce the need to outsource certain construction processes. Med Group stated that retaining local production allows it to continue working with the region's specialized shipbuilding workforce.

This expansion reflects a shift in Tykun's product range. Initially focused on rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), the company has increasingly developed larger aluminum platforms for professional, operational, and leisure applications. Tykun's current product line is based on platforms originally developed by Med Group for professional, government, and defense clients, later adapted for recreational yachting. Currently, the company produces aluminum chase boats and tenders targeting the superyacht market, emphasizing performance, safety, and flexible layouts. Experience gained in demanding commercial and operational environments has been applied to its leisure products. Housing design, engineering, and production under one roof is expected to help the company manage projects of varying complexity while maintaining closer oversight of manufacturing.

This news comes as the Tykun XII is set to debut, with the vessel planned for a global premiere at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show.
