en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of China have jointly launched the selection of typical application scenarios for robots in the agricultural sector for 2026. The initiative targets three key areas: crop cultivation, animal husbandry and aquaculture, and primary agricultural product processing, seeking robot application scenarios that feature advanced technology, high maturity, and significant effectiveness.

According to a notice published on the MIIT's official website, this selection aims to implement the "Implementation Opinions of the State Council on Accelerating Scenario Cultivation and Opening to Promote Large-Scale Application of New Scenarios" and the "Robot+ Application Action Implementation Plan," promoting the application of robots in agriculture and enhancing the precision and intelligence of agricultural production.

In the field of crop cultivation, the scope includes typical robot application scenarios such as agricultural condition monitoring, precision tillage and soil preparation, breeding seedling inspection, pollination and grafting, precision seeding and transplanting, pesticide application and weeding, fruit and vegetable picking and harvesting. The animal husbandry and aquaculture sector focuses on scenarios like breeding inspection, precision feeding, behavior monitoring, vaccine injection, cleaning and disinfection, milking, and aquatic product harvesting. The primary agricultural product processing sector covers scenarios such as intelligent slaughtering, unmanned hoisting, inspection and grading, handling and palletizing, and warehouse management.

Applications must be submitted in the form of a consortium, led by the robot development entity, in collaboration with user units such as agricultural socialized service organizations, family farms, and agricultural enterprises. The number of participating units should generally not exceed five. The submitted robot technology must have been applied in at least one real agricultural production scenario and be capable of effectively solving practical problems in production. The application plan should demonstrate deep integration of robots with advanced agronomy, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, and the key technical indicators must be leading.

Application materials will be organized, collected, and reviewed by provincial-level MIIT departments in conjunction with their counterparts in agriculture and rural affairs. Provincial-level authorities must submit scanned electronic versions of the stamped application forms and recommendation forms to both the MIIT and MARA by August 14, 2026. The MIIT and MARA will jointly organize the selection and announce the list of typical application scenarios, encouraging local governments to provide policy support for the selected scenarios.
