en.Wedoany.com Reported - thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA (Dortmund, Germany) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL, New Delhi, India) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to manufacture alkaline water electrolyzers for green hydrogen projects in India. The signing ceremony took place at BHEL's headquarters.
Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate to localize the manufacturing of alkaline electrolyzer modules in India in phases. The cooperation focuses on establishing local manufacturing capabilities, jointly participating in tender processes, and supporting the implementation of green hydrogen projects in the Indian market.
Kiran Joseph, CEO of thyssenkrupp nucera India, stated that India is one of the company's most important growth markets, and scaling up green hydrogen in India requires reliable, scalable solutions that align with the country's industrial ambitions. The partnership with BHEL underscores the company's long-term commitment to supporting the establishment of a robust green hydrogen market in India.
BHEL is one of India's leading state-owned engineering and manufacturing companies, with decades of experience in power generation, transmission, renewable energy, oil and gas, transportation, aerospace, and defense. It has played a central role in building India's industrial infrastructure. Its engineering expertise, manufacturing network, and technology centers of excellence form the foundation for this collaboration.
This partnership further strengthens thyssenkrupp nucera's technological and commercial interests in India. Earlier this year, the company initiated a collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to support the development of India's green hydrogen and Power-to-X market. Shortly thereafter, thyssenkrupp nucera was awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) study for a 260 MW green hydrogen project by Indian developer Juno Joule.
