en.Wedoany.com Reported - Global, headquartered in Inverness, has acquired a controlling stake in Aberdeen-based Prism Energy.

Prism Energy is a project management and control solutions provider founded by Andy Sutherland, which developed Prism Apps. This software is a project management tool widely adopted by companies in the energy industry. The company also offers a range of consulting services covering project management, planning, estimation, and risk management.
Global stated that this investment will help Prism enter its next growth phase. Prism is developing its technology and seeking to further promote its services and software, targeting markets including renewable energy, infrastructure, data centers, nuclear energy, utilities, and defense sectors. As part of the investment, Prism Energy founder and director Andy Sutherland and his team will remain in place.
Andy Sutherland said that after a decade of growth, the company believes now is the optimal time to introduce external investment to drive the next phase of development. Prism has established long-term partnerships with companies in Global's portfolio, including Apollo and the former Aventus Energy (now renamed Global Energy Solutions). He noted clear synergies and a shared corporate culture between the two. Prism looks forward to being part of a larger group, and the resulting cross-industry and regional growth opportunities, along with leveraging a mature support network covering HR, finance, business systems, and marketing, and learning from an entrepreneurial leadership team, will greatly benefit its future development.
Gordon Farmer, Board Director at Global, believes this investment in Prism Energy is the latest example of Global building interconnected capabilities to support its clients and the industries it serves. He emphasized that customers want seamless end-to-end solutions provided by partners they trust. Andy Sutherland and his team have earned an excellent reputation in project management, particularly in the energy market, and Prism Energy is at the forefront of the digital project management tools and support market. By working closely with Global's board and group companies, all parties look forward to exploring synergies and anticipate that Prism will expand its scope and diversify into renewable energy, infrastructure, nuclear energy, utilities, data centers, and defense markets, where Global already has a solid and growing presence.
At the end of 2025, marking its 20th anniversary, Global announced a major rebranding and plans to build a new 2,000-square-meter headquarters in the Freeport area of its Inverness campus, which will provide space for the group's growth and help achieve its ambition to become a leading energy and infrastructure services provider. Building on the acquisition of six companies over the past year, Global plans to increase its turnover from £300 million to £500 million over the next three years through sustained organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
