en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK-based Threesixty Architecture has submitted a planning application to Glasgow City Council on behalf of Albert Investment Co. for a new 314-bed Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) project on St George's Road.

Threesixty Architecture unveils 314-bed PBSA plans for Glasgow

Located on a key site along the M8 corridor at the western edge of Glasgow city centre, the project will consolidate three properties, including St George's Studios, for development while retaining commercial space. The design respects the city's architectural heritage by preserving the existing façade and repairing the fragmented streetscape through modern interventions. Drawing inspiration from the existing building and surrounding terraced townhouses, the façade features red and buff brickwork with sandstone detailing, forming the main entrance to the building.

Internally, the project includes landscaped courtyards and roof terraces to provide leisure, greening, biodiversity, and social spaces. A small pocket park is planned at ground level to accommodate emergency vehicle access while enhancing the project's liveability.

The project is led by Threesixty Architecture, with a team including planning consultant Iceni Projects, townscape and heritage consultant Iceni Townscape & Heritage, civil and structural engineer Woolgar Hunter, building services and sustainability consultant Atelier Ten, fire engineer Jensen Hughes, and landscape architect LUC. The scheme is driven by design quality, environmental performance, and sustainability.

Stefano Faiella, Director of Threesixty Architecture, stated that the project offers a unique opportunity to activate a key city centre site while preserving an important part of the city's architectural heritage. The scheme is a creative response to a challenging and unusual urban block, developed through constructive engagement with local authorities and productive discussions with key stakeholders and the wider community. Faiella added that the final result is a development balancing conservation and renewal, aiming to provide high-quality student accommodation and make a positive contribution to the evolving character of the area.

The project team includes: Client Albert Investment Co.; Architect Threesixty Architecture; Planning Consultant Iceni Projects; Townscape and Heritage Iceni Townscape & Heritage; Civil and Structural Engineer Woolgar Hunter; Building Services and Sustainability Atelier Ten; Fire Engineer Jensen Hughes; Landscape Architect LUC; Visualisation Threesixty Creative Lab.
