en.Wedoany.com Reported - Moray Council has granted planning permission for housebuilder Springfield Properties to construct 204 new homes on the edge of Elgin.

This latest phase of residential development will include both private homes and affordable housing, while also providing commercial space for local businesses and community areas.
The project will offer a range of house types, including two-bedroom, three-bedroom, four-bedroom, and five-bedroom properties. Green spaces such as community gardens, playgrounds, sports courts, and a linear park have been designated in the plans.
Dave Main, Managing Director of Springfield Properties' Northern Division, stated that the planning permission was secured after two years of collaboration with Moray Council, and the company looks forward to commencing construction to deliver the next phase of homes. He noted that this decision will support the local economy, with housebuilding providing ongoing work for local trades, business for suppliers, and opportunities to develop the next generation of the workforce through apprenticeships.
Main added that the approval comes at an ideal time for homebuyers. This phase will introduce a range of house types not previously seen in Elgin, offering buyers more choice. With planning now approved, the company can finalize details before launching sales next week.
Residents Jacqui and her partner Lynn recently moved back to Elgin and spoke about the experience of customizing their home. Jacqui said one of the advantages of a Springfield home is the ability to personalize it to suit their style. They upgraded the kitchen, adding a Quooker tap, granite worktops, and more sockets and spotlights, and even adjusted a wall to allow for the option of adding double doors in the future.
