en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Moroccan government signed a cooperation agreement with engineering and technology consulting group ALTEN in Rabat on July 2, aiming to accelerate the establishment of a national ecosystem centered on artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 technologies.

The partnership, involving Morocco's Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Higher Education, and Ministry of Digital Transformation, focuses on four main areas: conducting AI application research projects covering predictive maintenance, numerical simulation, computer-aided design, and automated quality control; creating technology platforms for industries to test new solutions; launching accelerators for the automotive, aviation, and railway sectors; and establishing AI and advanced engineering training programs at universities and higher institutes.
This initiative aligns with the "Morocco Digital 2030" and "Made in Morocco AI" strategies, with authorities estimating that AI could ultimately generate over $10 billion in additional GDP and create 240,000 digital jobs. In the industrial sector, the technology is already being used to optimize production lines, predict maintenance operations, automate quality control, and improve factory energy efficiency.
Since entering Morocco in 2008, ALTEN has employed over 2,200 engineers in Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, and Tetouan, serving large groups in the automotive, aviation, railway, telecommunications, information systems, and R&D sectors, while developing AI and Industry 4.0-related solutions. Moroccan authorities hope to leverage its expertise to enhance local capabilities, accelerate technology transfer between universities and industry, and promote indigenous innovation.
