en.Wedoany.com Reported - Poland's Baltic Hub Container Terminal has secured €51.2 million in funding from the European Infrastructure, Climate and Environment Fund FEnIKS 2021-2027, disbursed by the Centre for EU Transport Projects. This amount accounts for approximately 40% of the total project investment and was approved under the 2025 multimodal transport project call framework.

The Baltic Hub Container Terminal has received €51.2 million in funding under the FEnIKS 2021-2027 program for its container terminal in Gdańsk.

The investment will primarily focus on three areas: electrification of terminal operations, expansion of railway infrastructure, and deployment of advanced digital and monitoring systems. Specific measures include the procurement of new ship-to-shore cranes and yard cranes, the establishment of an electric tractor fleet, and construction work related to railway siding platforms.

These initiatives are expected to enhance the terminal's cargo handling capacity, improve multimodal transport efficiency, and reduce the environmental impact of the Gdańsk facility.

Jan Van Mossevelde, CEO of the company, stated that the funding agreement marks a significant step in the terminal's development, aligning with the PSA Group's "Node to Network" strategy. He noted that the investment will strengthen the Baltic Hub's position as a key port ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe and accelerate the transition toward more sustainable and efficient operations.

As one of the largest deep-water container terminals in Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic Hub plays a central role in international supply chains and the Trans-European Transport Network.
