en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Singapore National Space Agency (NSAS) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 6 for space cooperation for peaceful purposes. JAXA President Dr. Yamakawa Hiroshi and NSAS CEO Ms. Ngiam Le Na attended the signing ceremony.

This memorandum is the first bilateral cooperation document signed by NSAS since its establishment in April this year. Under the agreement, the two space agencies will strengthen information sharing and explore cooperation in areas such as space technology development and application, space science and exploration, industrial development, talent cultivation, and policy and regulatory exchanges. The cooperation framework will also promote economic collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders, including private companies and universities.
During the Spacetide 2026 conference held in Tokyo, the two sides also exchanged letters of cooperation on industrial collaboration under JAXA's Co-funded Business Promotion Framework (CBPF). Singapore became the third partner country to join this framework, following the United Kingdom and France.
NSAS CEO Ms. Ngiam Le Na emphasized that international partnerships play a key role in expanding opportunities for Singapore's space industry ecosystem. JAXA President Yamakawa Hiroshi noted that the signing coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and he believes the new agreement will help deepen cooperation between Japan and Singapore in the fields of science, technology, and space.
