Rocket Lab's 94th Electron Launch Delivers StriX to Orbit
en.Wedoany.com Reported - At 00:01 local time on September 3, Rocket Lab executed the "Owl Around The World" mission from Launch Complex 1 on Mahia Peninsula, New Zealand. The Electron rocket deployed Synspective's latest StriX synthetic aperture radar satellite into a 575-kilometer low Earth orbit at an inclination of 38 degrees.

This mission marked the 94th launch of Electron and the 15th launch completed by Rocket Lab in 2026. It was also the 11th dedicated launch Rocket Lab has performed for Synspective, with the two parties having executed StriX constellation deployment missions since 2020.
For this flight, the Electron rocket featured a custom payload fairing configured for the dimensions of the StriX satellite. Rocket Lab currently holds 16 additional Electron launch missions for Synspective, with related missions planned to continue through 2030.
Synspective confirmed that the satellite inserted into orbit is the company's 11th small SAR satellite. Following orbital insertion, initial communications were established and normal controllability was confirmed, with the antenna successfully deployed. The company plans to conduct functional testing and commissioning over the coming months, including observation and data acquisition, before entering full operational service after verification is completed.
Synspective's existing StriX satellites belong to the 100-kilogram-class small SAR satellite category. The company has consecutively completed the deployment of its 8th through 11th satellites in March, May, June, and September 2026, with the 11th satellite now entering its pre-operational testing phase.
