en.Wedoany.com Reported - Oracle has announced its role as a founding partner of IMSA Labs, the innovation platform under the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), and simultaneously launched the Oracle Cloud Innovation Studio, a startup innovation program built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The platform aims to help startups transform concepts into validated solutions by combining Oracle's cloud and AI technologies with IMSA's live event operations and telemetry data.
IMSA President John Doonan stated that motorsports has always been an innovation laboratory, and IMSA has long served as a venue for manufacturers to validate technologies. IMSA Labs extends this tradition beyond the racetrack, creating an ecosystem where startups, technology leaders, manufacturers, and research institutions can develop and validate solutions in demanding operational environments. As the first collaborative innovation project under IMSA Labs, the Oracle Cloud Innovation Studio will operate within the IMSA pit area, serving as a live demonstration and development environment. Participating startups will leverage AI, cloud, and data technologies to build and optimize solutions on OCI, validating performance against the speed, complexity, and operational demands of professional endurance racing.
Karan Batta, Senior Vice President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, noted that startups innovate faster when tackling real-world complexities rather than simulated conditions. As a founding partner of IMSA Labs, Oracle combines OCI's performance and scalability with IMSA's operational environment, providing a pathway for startups to develop, validate, and showcase solutions in an environment where every millisecond and decision matters.
IMSA brings together 18 global automotive manufacturers, generating millions of telemetry events each race weekend. This combination of live operations, engineering workflows, edge conditions, distributed systems, and real-time decision-making offers startups a testing environment that traditional labs or accelerators can hardly provide. Startups can leverage OCI to develop and validate solutions across multiple areas, including adaptive data routing and prioritization, cloud-based telemetry data ingestion and replication, real-time decision engines, AI-assisted operational insights, and real-time telemetry experiences for fans.
Solutions developed through the Oracle Cloud Innovation Studio will address common operational challenges such as high-volume streaming data processing, real-time decision-making, edge reliability operations, and coordination of complex distributed systems. These technology patterns, validated in IMSA's real racing environment, can be applied to industries with high demands for performance, resilience, and speed, including manufacturing, transportation, logistics, energy, telecommunications, and smart venues.
