en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 8, Yang Changli, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), and Pang Songtao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager, met with Wang Weizhong, Secretary of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress, and Bao Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Government, in Hohhot. Both parties jointly witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement.

Wang Weizhong expressed gratitude for CGN's long-term support for Inner Mongolia's development and introduced the region's economic and social progress. He noted that Inner Mongolia, as a key national base for energy and strategic resources, is advancing a multi-energy approach encompassing coal, electricity, oil, gas, wind, solar, hydro, and nuclear power, in line with the Autonomous Region Party Committee's work plan. This includes accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional energy sources, developing and utilizing new energy, and strengthening the exploitation of strategic mineral resources. CGN holds advantages in the full nuclear power industry chain, new energy, and non-power nuclear technology, offering broad cooperation prospects. Wang Weizhong hopes that CGN will take this signing as a starting point to increase investment and project implementation in areas such as photovoltaic desert control, green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol, new energy storage, rural revitalization, mineral resource exploration, and comprehensive nuclear energy applications. He also urged the company to fulfill its primary responsibility for production safety. The Autonomous Region will provide service guarantees to support CGN's development in Inner Mongolia.

Yang Changli thanked the Autonomous Region Party Committee and government for their support and introduced CGN's industrial layout and latest developments. He stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, CGN's installed new energy capacity in Inner Mongolia has exceeded 10 million kilowatts, covering all 12 leagues and cities in the region. Looking ahead to the "15th Five-Year Plan," CGN will build on the cooperation foundation, increase investment, and focus on advancing large-scale desert, gobi, and barren land transmission base projects. It will also coordinate the development of new energy, wind-solar hydrogen production, solar thermal power generation, photovoltaic desert control, green power direct supply, and nuclear technology application projects. CGN will earnestly fulfill its responsibilities as a central enterprise, helping Inner Mongolia build itself into a national base for important energy and strategic resources.

Dai Qin, Vice Chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People's Government, and Li Yilun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of CGN, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. Autonomous Region leaders, including Yu Lixin, along with heads of relevant departments and bureaus, as well as CGN headquarters department and unit leaders, attended the event.
