en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian gold-antimony producer Alkane Resources Limited (ASX: ALK; TSX: ALK) has provided an update on the expansion and infill drilling at the True Blue deposit within the Costerfield gold-antimony field in Victoria. Since the resource and reserve update in October 2025, the company has completed 33 drill holes targeting the Freeman Vein at the True Blue deposit, totaling 19,012 meters of diamond core.
The infill drilling primarily supplemented the upper portion of the deposit, significantly enhancing the understanding of vein geometry and ore-controlling structures. Higher-resolution drilling data reveals additional complexity within the vein, helping to refine previously interpreted high-grade zones. Current and future drilling will trace repetitions of True Blue mineralization along strike to the north and south, and study its relationship with the West Costerfield prospect area.
Drilling results from the Freeman Vein (700) show: hole TB055 intersected 0.25 meters (ETW 0.17 meters) at 57.6 g/t gold and 25.4% antimony; hole TB057 intersected 0.31 meters (ETW 0.22 meters) at 20.9 g/t gold and 19.5% antimony; hole TB080 intersected 0.8 meters (ETW 0.63 meters) at 4.3 g/t gold and 6.4% antimony; hole TB065 intersected 0.27 meters (ETW 0.17 meters) at 30.1 g/t gold and 14.8% antimony. Results from adjacent veins show: hole TB084 (702 fault) intersected 0.48 meters (ETW 0.36 meters) at 84.1 g/t gold and 15.4% antimony; hole TB053 (705 vein) intersected 3.2 meters (ETW 1.4 meters) at 17.9 g/t gold and 1.7% antimony; hole TB079 intersected 0.22 meters (ETW 0.16 meters) at 19.3 g/t gold and 29.3% antimony; hole TB055 intersected 0.77 meters (ETW 0.54 meters) at 11.2 g/t gold and 5.7% antimony.
Alkane Managing Director Nic Earner stated that the infill drilling has provided the geological certainty needed to advance the deposit development plan, and the information from the holes has also improved the model for further exploration along the True Blue corridor. He noted that True Blue is more complex than initially anticipated, but the company is optimistic about progress.
The Costerfield gold-antimony deposit was discovered in 1861, with modern mining ongoing since 2006. The True Blue deposit first appeared on government survey maps in 1864, and the Freeman Vein became the primary exploration focus after encountering economic grades in hole TB010 in 2022. True Blue is located on the western side of the Costerfield Dome, hosted in Silurian marine siltstone, with the main mineralized structure named the Freeman Vein, resource code 700.
Infill drilling shows that the Freeman Vein consists of a series of vertical, north-south trending tabular veins, typically with fractures filled by quartz and stibnite, formed during a single mineralization stage, similar in nature to the Kendal deposit at Costerfield. The latest hole TB084 intersected a broad vein zone, interpreted as a connecting zone between veins 702 and 705.
In the next fiscal year, ongoing drilling at True Blue will focus on along-strike exploration. To the north, soil sampling indicates geochemical anomalies that may extend for hundreds of meters. To the south, drilling data suggests a possible repetition of the dome structure, with hole TB022 drilled in early 2024 intersecting a broad gold-antimony mineralized zone approximately 550 meters south of the current resource boundary, including a 2.38-meter (ETW 2.00 meters) interval at 2.6 g/t gold. At depth, vertical mineralized veins were encountered at the bottom of multiple holes below the regional Komodo Fault. To the east, the West Costerfield prospect area shares the potential ore transport corridor of the Komodo Fault.
Alkane Resources (ASX: ALK; TSX: ALK) is an Australian gold-antimony producer with three operating mines in Australia and Sweden, including the Tomingley Gold Mine, Costerfield Gold-Antimony Mine, and Björkdal Gold Mine. The company also owns the Boda-Kaiser gold-copper porphyry project in central-western New South Wales, which has completed a pre-feasibility study.
