en.Wedoany.com Reported - Private airport operator Vinci Airports has won the concession for Rennes Bretagne Airport (RNS) in France and plans to expand the facility, with a focus on increasing international routes. The airport is located in the Brittany region of France.

Both Vinci and local officials in Brittany believe that the airport's existing capacity is not yet fully utilized. Currently, RNS serves 15 airports with flights operated by eight airlines, covering domestic and short-haul international destinations. In 2025, the airport handled 512,000 passengers. Key airports directly accessible from RNS include Paris Charles de Gaulle, Dublin, London Gatwick, and Amsterdam Schiphol.
Vinci stated that details of the airport modernization project will be announced this autumn, but did not disclose the investment amount. The overall strategy of the project focuses on enhancing route connectivity options, modernizing infrastructure and services, accelerating environmental transformation to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and achieving financial independence.
The concession was awarded by elected officials of the Brittany Regional Council. Shareholder partners include the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the private company Sealar. Vinci said it is positioning itself as a new airport operator in France, with a development strategy focused on managing local airports that are often underutilized or whose business models are being redefined. Jean-Philippe Crocq, President of the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the RNS modernization project will be driven by economic ambition, environmental responsibility, and tourism development.
